• Clint Capela
    C, Houston Rockets

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that the Rockets are engaged with several Eastern Conference teams on trade scenarios involving Clint Capela.

The NBA trade deadline is approaching on Thursday, and naturally, Woj decided to fire this news off during the Super Bowl. In particular, Woj mentions that the Hawks are one of the teams engaged in discussions on Capela. The Hawks had also been linked to Andre Drummond, and clearly they are continuing to explore the market for a true center to pair with John Collins. Woj suggested that the Rockets are seeking draft assets that could be flipped for a wing player. If the Rockets did deal Capela they would also need to get a center to soak up some of his minutes. The Rockets have been slumping of late, although Capela has missed three out of their last four contests. His value would probably take a hit on a new team where he was not the only big man in the rotation, but he would still hold mid-round value at a minimum. As we saw with the Chris Paul for Russell Westbrook trade, Daryl Morey is not afraid to pull the trigger, so anything could happen as Thursday approaches. For fantasy purposes, hopefully Capela stays put and gets healthy in the near future. He has been a beast this season delivering early-round value when available.
