D'Angelo RussellPG, Minnesota TimberwolvesBefore finding his way to the Wolves via a trade involving Andrew Wiggins, D'Angelo Russell scrapped through a challenging 2019-20 season with the Warriors ending at 38/56 in 8/9-cat per-game value.
The Wolves moved Heaven and Earth to get what their star player, Karl-Anthony Towns, wanted and that was to play with his buddy, Russell. The guard would end up playing a tool of 45 games this season (12 with the Wolves). Post-trade Russell dealt with a nagging thumb injury, which limited the impact he was able to make with his new team. His averages with the Wolves still look encouraging for a strong 2020-21 with Russell clocking in with 21.7 PTS, 6.6 AST, 3.2 3s and 1.4 STL in those 12 games, at 32.7 MPG.
