So I've been doing fantasy for a few years now, but this season is my first managing a team in a roto league with a games cap (82 games per position).
I'm just after some tips or strategies for doing this.
In all my previous leagues it's just been a matter of rolling all your players out on any given night but I'm guessing there is a bit more planning required for a games cap league.
Solid question: I'm of the philosophy that 'lagging back' a tiny bit is a good move. Maybe don't play your 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th best players right out of the chute if you have any fear of them stinking it up. You want those games to COUNT, and there will inevitably be a HOT FA you'll want to plug in.
Plus, at the midpoint of the season, you can assess where you're weak and have a handful more games than other teams to address that need.
Make sure the best players on your roster and the FA pool are who populate your active roster spots.
Like Dan said, you can leave some UTIL games unused and fill them in with players who provide "needed" stats to balance out your roto mix later on.
