Week 4: Top Performers of the Week

By Steve Vidovich Published October 4, 2022 Updated October 8, 2022 2 min read

With Week 4 in the books, it’s time to take a look at the fantasy options who made their GMs scream with joy as they watched the points roll in. This article is not to help with waiver wire pickups, but rather just to give gold stars to the top performers of the week. To find our waiver wire column, click here.

All stats are based on PPR scoring.

QB

Jared Goff, Lions

33.22 Fantasy Points, QB1

26-for-39, 378 passing yards, four touchdowns, one interception, one carry for one yard

Geno Smith, Seahawks

31.7 Fantasy Points, QB2

23-for-30, 320 passing yards, two touchdowns, seven carries for 49 yards and one touchdown

The Lions sure find themselves in a lot of high-scoring affairs through four weeks of the season, which has really helped Goff deliver for those in the streaming bin at the QB position. After this four-touchdown shootout loss to the Seahawks, Goff now ranks as the QB5 on the season. The fact that the Lions found a way to deliver this kind of production while without D’Andre Swift, Amon-Ra St. Brown and DJ Chark might say more about the Seahawks defense than it does about Goff. Nonetheless, it was a very impressive showing from a QB who can once again has 12-team streaming appeal in a Week 5 matchup vs. a Patriots team that has relinquished the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing QBs (20.4).

While he finished second at his position behind Goff, those managers who started Smith are just as happy as the Goff managers as he really helped win people their matchups. The Seahawks have a more challenging matchup vs. the Saints in Week 5 but he should continue to see additional value at the QB position if he can continue to use his legs to earn himself additional yards on the ground. Besides Week 4’s explosion for 49 rushing yards and the score, Smith only scampered for 15 yards on 10 attempts. Without the rushing ability, he’s a mere QB2.
