Bet: 14-16 -2.38u
Lean: 10-7 +2.95uBoth teams will be missing their starting quarterbacks in this one, which is going to limit the fantasy ceiling of anyone in the game. We’ll have Ted Bagent for the Bears and reportedly Brian Hoyer for the Raiders. The good news? Neither of these teams is any good to begin with, so we could be in for a sloppy affair where a random player scores a bunch of points. Should be a fun one!
Main Storylines to Watch
Battle of the Backup Quarterbacks: Ted Bagent may actually be the “safer” play here because there really is no worthy backup. He should be locked into the QB position barring any injuries. Brian Hoyer may have to cede some snaps to Aiden O’Connell if this one gets out of hand early or if the Raiders are not impressed with what Hoyer brings to the table. Either way, the focus is going to be on how the backups affect target share for the wide receiver room, and whether or not the player can reach their upside. I actually think both of these backups aren’t all that bad, compared to some others, so I’m okay rolling with some of the skill positions on both teams with a lot of teams on bye this week.
Bears Running Back Room: We started this season with this focus and here we are again, but for different reasons. Roschon Johnson (concussion) has already been ruled out and Khalil Herbert (ankle) was placed on IR, so the best option for the Bears is going to be D’Onta Foreman again and he didn’t have a bad game last week with 65 rushing yards. Can we expect a similar line here?
