Carolina’s offense has been bad to start the year and now they may start backup QB Andy Dalton in place of the first overall pick Bryce Young (ankle).  While Young carries the potential to be a franchise QB, it is not a scalding hot take to suggest that in their current forms, Dalton gives the Panthers a better shot at winning. The Seahawks defense has been lacking against the pass to start the year, is this the matchup the Panthers need to get back on track?

Main Storylines to Watch

Is there value to be had in any of the Carolina receivers? So far, the answer is no. Adam Thielen found the end zone in Week 2, but the Panthers offense does not project to score a lot of TDs this year, averaging one per week. The other Panthers receivers are hard to evaluate and likely will not receive enough volume to ever be started confidently, but with Dalton at the helm, this could be the week to take a risky stream on somebody.

Will the Seahawks get rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba more involved in the offense? JSN is off to a slow start, mostly being utilized on short crossers and screen passes. As he settles in, will he get more opportunities and targets, or will he be stuck as the third fiddle all year?
