Week 17 Defenses to Start/Sit/Stream

“Start” These are going to be D/STs that are rostered that you shouldn’t think twice about starting.

“Sit” These are going to be the D/STs that need to be benched until next week’s evaluation.

“Stream” These are going to be the D/STs that are sitting on your waiver wire begging to be picked up.

Start

San Francisco 49ers (D/ST8) @ Washington Commanders

Philadelphia Eagles (D/ST27) @ Arizona Cardinals

The 49ers just got disrespected by the Ravens on national TV so this will be a great get-back game for the 49ers. if you drafted this D/ST and you’re in the championship, congrats, you’re about to get a great outing from this team. The 49ers allow the 27th most points to QBs, 25th to RBs, 14rd to WRs, and 22th to TEs. The added bonus here is that the Commanders are going to be starting Jacoby Brissett. 

Another D/ST that is going to perform well if you drafted high and if you’re in the championship. This Eagles D/ST has not looked dominant in a while and this might be a good change of pace for them as the Cardinals are in position to lose for a better draft pick. They’ll have opportunities for this subpar offense. The Eagles allow the 2nd most points to QBs, 29th to RBs, 1st to WRs, and 14th to TEs.

Sit

Cleveland Browns (D/ST5) vs. New York Jets

Dallas Cowboys (D/ST1) @ Detroit Lions

Could be a hot one but something about the Jets on Thursday night against a Browns team that has just exploded and had their best offensive game. This Jets team is not bad if they have a competent QB and they may have that with Trevor Siemian. Definite upset potential here as well. I could also see the Jets team doing well against this Browns offense as they give up the 32nd least points up to QBs and WRs. The Jets are good for starting in my opinion. 

Two of the most explosive teams in the league going at it isn’t the most ideal matchup for opposing D/STs.
