NFL FantasyPass: Week 12 QB Rankings

  • Want to know where your starting QB might wind up by week’s end? Here’s our guess as to where the QB ranks will shake out when the dust settles on Monday. We hope you’ll use this to determine who to start and who to sit, but also to try to determine if you’re favored at each position in your weekly matchup.

    Projected Finish Name Team Notes
QB1 Lamar Jackson BAL Even with the loss of Mark Andrews, Jackson has an astronomical ceiling against a Chargers defense that has been among the league's worst at limiting fantasy points to the QB position. He is always in danger of TD poaching, but this is his chance to show out.
QB2 Jalen Hurts PHI The Bills have been a confusing team this year, but if Josh Allen's turnover issues continue, Hurts and the Eagles can dominate time of possession.
QB3 Dak Prescott DAL Dak has been outstanding lately and the Washington defense was already bad before trading pieces away a few weeks ago. The Cowboys are good at dominating inferior teams and this should be no different.
QB4 Patrick Mahomes KC Mahomes was solid in the MNF loss to Philly and although Vegas has been revitalized, they pose little threat to the best of the best.
QB5 Brock Purdy SF Although the Seattle defense has been stronger lately, they have been defeated by short routes of the middle and screens. When you have the arsenal Purdy does, the matchup just makes sense for passes to CMC and Kittle to have a huge impact courtesy of Purdy's timely deliveries.
QB6 Justin Fields CHI Fields was solid last week against Detroit and now has an interesting divisional matchup against the Vikings. His rushing abilities pose a threat to the Minnesota defense despite strong recent performances.
QB7 Trevor Lawrence JAC The QB1 from Week 11 should be able to put up big numbers against a lackluster Houston defense as the Jags try to assert dominance in the AFC South.
QB8 Joshua Dobbs MIN Denver gave Dobbs some trouble, but the matchup against Chicago seems easier. The Bears have been terrible at getting after the QB.
QB9 Kyler Murray ARI Kyler was amazing in his first week back and can continue the momentum against the Rams at home. The Rams have a couple great defenders but may not fair well against the mobile playstyle of Murray.
QB10 Josh Allen BUF The Bills need to win most of their games to make the playoffs, but they still have the playoffs in mind. The run defense of Philly combined with the Bill's reluctance to feed RBs will make for an interesting combo. Allen will have to do it all on his own in this one.
QB11 C.J. Stroud HOU Stroud is the real deal, but the Jags defense has been a strong suit for them. This game is huge for implications of the division and the Jaguars appear to be the more well-rounded team here.
QB12 Jared Goff DET "The Galleria of Jewelry" has not been finding the end zone as much with both of his RBs healthy again, but that just takes some pressure off. Green Bay's defense has played well, but the Lions are going to hop on every opportunity to beat down the former tyrants of the NFC North.
QB13 Justin Herbert LAC The Ravens have a ton of defensive talent and the Chargers' firepower is talented but limited. Herbert can find a safe line of play this week, but it will be hard for him to find a high ceiling unless Baltimore runs out of steam the way they did against the Browns a few weeks ago.
QB14 Tua Tagovailoa MIA The Jets have been great against the QB this year and Tua will need to patch some things up after a close win against Vegas. Saleh will have tricks to force turnovers and limit the lefty gunslinger.
QB15 Baker Mayfield TB The Colts have been unpredictable defensively, but a veteran like Baker should be able to exploit them with his game management style of play. The weapons of the Buccaneers should be able to find gaps in the armor and score.
QB16 Sam Howell WAS If nothing else, Howell should see a ton of attempts and yardage in this game. Howell has been on a heater, even though the team cannot find ways to win. He will be a riskier play against the Cowboys' defense, but should find a floor.
QB17 Jordan Love GB Love's play looks a lot better if you just gander at the box score. He has not looked great for the eye test and does not have the luxury of playing the Chargers this week.
QB18 Matthew Stafford LAR It appears Stafford will be without Cooper Kupp once again. Puka Nacua is enough to help him find value and the offense may look a lot better as a whole with Kyren Williams back in the rotation. Stafford is a floor play good for 200 yards and likely a score.
QB19 Russell Wilson DEN Wilson has not had huge yardage totals which holds him down, but feel free to ride the connection to Sutton for a weekly TD until the wheels fall off. Wilson should find around 200 and a score as well, even against Cleveland.
QB20 Derek Carr NO Coming off the bye week, Carr will visit Atlanta in hopes of pushing for the division title. The Saints offense has been a hodge-podge of Kamara, Olave and Hill, but even in a matchup that is not bad, Carr is hardly trustworthy for a big week.
QB21 Desmond Ridder ATL The Saints defense is good at limiting QBs and Ridder is about as inconsistent as they come. He will return to the starting lineup but it will be very difficult to have faith in him to deliver anything.
QB22 Geno Smith SEA A banged-up Geno Smith will be back at home against a stout Niner defense that leaves little room for error. If the loss of Safety Hufanga is a big deal, Smith may find some value but otherwise is better served on your bench on the short week.
QB23 Will Levis TEN Levis will face off the Panthers at home. The Panthers have been looking up lately, at least defensively, and Levis has not been too great aside from his debut.
QB24 Bryce Young CAR The Tennessee defense is weak at best, but Young has not provided much fantasy value at all. Two struggling offenses make for a low scoring game.
QB25 Mac Jones NE Mac Jones is the least exciting start most weeks and the Giants actually looked good last week. However, Belichick coming off a bye may find a way to dominate a team looking even worse than the Patriots.
QB26 Kenny Pickett PIT This is a big week for the Steelers as OC Matt Canada was finally relieved of his duties. Do not expect Pickett to be able to find the end zone any more often than he was before the firing.
QB27 Dorian Thompson-Robinson CLE DTR has a tough one against Denver, who is on a roll. The defense has been solid lately an they are finding ways to win games. The Browns offense will struggle with Amari Cooper receiving the full attention of Pat Surtain.
QB28 Tommy Devito NYG Last week was an amazing performance for DeVito, but speaks more for the woes of the Washington defense than anything else. New England has been bad on all sides of the ball this year, but they have had an extra week to prepare for the Jersey native.
QB30 Aidan O'Connell LV Even after a loss, the Chiefs are as dangerous as ever. This is the best defense of Mahomes's career and made the Philly offense look bad for most of the game. AOC does not have the same level of talent to overcome this challenge.
QB31 Jake Browning CIN Browning is no Burrow, but he does have Ja'Marr... Which is probably not enough for him to figure out how to avoid Highsmith and Watt to produce fantasy points.
QB32 Tim Boyle NYJ Zach Wilson, for now, has been benched for Boyle, but how much better can Boyle be if it took this long for the Jets to make a move despite horrendous QB play from Wilson?
