We’ll look into the slate of two-start pitchers each week and make some suggestions that are hopefully available on the waiver wire to fill out your fantasy baseball roster.
There are a few good options this week, and hopefully, Zach Eflin is available in your league. We also have some possible plays you can look at if you’re desperate for volume or are looking to add to your points league rosters. As always, there’s also a bunch of two-starts to avoid altogether that I won’t even bother mentioning here.
The Main Plays
Zach Eflin RHP (TBR) – @BAL, @NYY
Yahoo 74%, ESPN 39%
Zach Eflin has gone at least five innings in all five of his games this season, with a couple of quality starts. While he has faced the likes of Detroit, Oakland, and the White Sox (twice), he cooled off the hot Pirates offense in his most recent outing, going seven strong with only three hits and striking out a season-high 10 batters. He carries a 2.25 ERA and 0.96 WHIP, with a 28.4 percent strikeout rate and a minuscule 2.8 percent walk rate, into Baltimore and New York next week. It also doesn’t hurt that he has the buzzsaw of a Rays’ offense backing him up for run support. While the Orioles boast the second-best record in the AL at the moment, they have an 18th-ranked .322 wOBA against righties at Camden Yards this season. The Yankees, meanwhile, have been scuffling along with injuries ravaging their lineup on a seemingly daily basis. They are currently in the bottom third of the league with a .305 wOBA at Yankee Stadium versus righties.
Eflin is still available in some Yahoo leagues, so check the wire in case he’s available in yours.
