MLB Two-Start Pitchers – Week of June 26th

  • Tw-Start Pitchers - Michael Kopech

We’ll look into the slate of two-start pitchers who are under 70% rostered each week and make some suggestions that are hopefully available on the waiver wire to fill out your fantasy baseball roster.

There’s a nice group of two-start pitchers this week, so let’s dig in to see who’s worth a roster spot.

    The Main Plays

    Michael Kopech RHP (CHW) – @LAA, @OAK

    Yahoo 63%, ESPN 43%
Michael Kopech only went four innings last time out, but that was against the buzzsaw that is the Texas Rangers offense. He surrendered three runs and still struck out five but gave up three walks. That wouldn’t be all that alarming, except that he previously issued six free passes in 4 1/3 innings to Seattle. He still has a 10.32 K/9 on the season, and a 26.7 percent strikeout rate, so we’re looking for the 27-year-old to get back on track this week. He lines up against the Angels and Athletics this week, with both contests coming on the road.

Looking at the team wOBAs through May and June, Los Angeles and Oakland are both in the bottom third of the league in team offense at home. The Angels, despite Shohei Ohtani’s torrid home run pace, are 22nd with a .311 mark and a 25.3 percent strikeout rate. Unsurprisingly, the A’s are even worse, with a 27.2 percent strikeout rate and the worst team wOBA in the majors at .265.
