We’ll look into the slate of two-start pitchers who are under 70% rostered each week and make some suggestions that are hopefully available on the waiver wire to fill out your fantasy baseball roster.
It’s quite a big slate of good available two-start pitchers, so there should be lots of options if you need to bolster your pitching volume and stats this week.
The Main Plays
Brayan Bello RHP (BOS) – KCR, DET
Yahoo 63%, ESPN 28%
Despite a rough four-game stretch that sees Brayan Bello with a 6.55 ERA (despite going six innings in three of them), the youngster still has a 3.79 ERA on the season and has been a solid option this year. He’s going deeper into games regularly now, with 10 quality starts in his last 14 outings. The strikeouts haven’t been there, however, with a 7.85 K/9 on the year and a 7.77 K/9 over his four starts since the break. He’s keeping the ball on the ground, with a 56.2 percent ground ball rate, but has had trouble with home runs recently with eight in his last four starts.Bello has great matchups this week, facing two of the three worst offenses this season, in the Royals and Tigers. Both lineups have been slightly improved since the beginning of July, but sit in the bottom third in wOBA. Since July 1, the Royals have 132 runs scored (19th) and 31 home runs (21st) while the Tigers are right behind with 119 runs (21st) and 27 homers (28th).
