MLB Pickups of the Day for April 4th

  • Our first full week of MLB games started off with runs galore and below I’ve highlighted some outstanding hitters to pick up while they are hot.

    Milwaukee Brewers 2B Brice Turang

Brice Turang’s first MLB home run was unforgettable; he hit a Grand Slam in the 5th Inning of the Brewers’ home opener. He also stole a base, scored 2 runs, and had four RBIs.  He’s a lefty platoon bat with Owen Miller at 2B but Turang can also play 3B, SS, and OF.  He’s off to a scorching hot start and the Brewers have a six-game homestand and apparently, he likes to hit home runs in Miller Park (it’s called something else now but it will always be Miller Park to me.)

San Francisco Giants 3B David Villar

In the off-season, Giants’ GM Farhan Zaidi told reporters that David Villar was going to get a look in Spring Training as the everyday 3B because his defense was excellent.  Villar’s offense was on display Monday when he swatted two home runs and five RBI.  Great defense plus offensive production equals everyday plate appearance which is the key to fantasy baseball success.
