MLB Trade Advice: Buy Low and Sell High Candidates for Week 15

  • As a fantasy baseball manager, I’m always looking to maximize my roster in any way possible. One of the oldest but sometimes misused tactics is buying low on players who are underperforming and selling high on players that are expected to regress in some capacity. This season I have been crushing it, suggesting buy-lows on Justin Verlander and Nathan Eovaldi before his heater, while also recommending sell-highs on James Outman and Patrick Wisdom. With that, I will get into 3 guys that you should target as buy-low candidates and 3 guys you should look to trade based on their inflated value. I might’ve mentioned a few names on my Twitter (@Andrew_FBB) so you can also check them out there!

    Undervalued Players to Buy

    Christian Javier

The first guy on the list is just a textbook buy-low candidate in fantasy baseball. Javier has had a tough go of it over the past couple of weeks. His last 3 starts totaled 10.2 innings pitched, 18 runs (15.88 ERA), and only 6 strikeouts. Really a dreadful couple of starts for one of the Astros’ promising young players. There are definitely red flags for Javier going forward but the whole point of this strategy is to secure players at a lower value at this moment as opposed to what their value will be at the end of the season to help improve your squad. Javier is not pitching well but is still getting batters to chase while continuing his relatively good command. Look to buy Javier at his lowest value this year.
