MLB Pickups of the Day for September 4th

  • We are getting into crunch time here in the fantasy baseball season. This will be the most key and precise stretch of adds you will need to make all year! Some of these adds could make or break your season. Let’s push our chips all in and win some championships! It features a lot of up-and-coming youth that I have mentioned on my Twitter over the past week! Check me out over there @Andrew_FBB

    Jasson Dominguez

The Martian has landed. Dominguez was promoted to the big league club this week and has shown some raw power right away. Through his first three games, he has launched 2 home runs along with a single in 13 at-bats. The batting average upside has not really been displayed yet but we will see it as he gets more games under his belt. The 20-year-old has elite power/speed with an approach not many his age have. This is a solid add option for me.

    Tanner Scott

After the Marlins acquired David Robertson at the trade deadline from the Mets, the closer job was immediately his to lose, and boy did he lose it. Since being dealt to Miami Robertson has compiled 4 saves, 4 losses, and a 7.50 ERA. Tanner Scott has been the one to clean up the mess for them and has locked down 2 saves since they started turning to him in save opportunities. Scott has terrific underlying metrics as well making this a solid saves add.

    Ronny Mauricio

Another recent callup, Ronny Mauricio has hit the ground running since being promoted when rosters expanded. He has collected 5 hits in his first 11 major league at bats, while also swiping 2 bases. The biggest takeaway was his first big league hit being launched at 117 MPH exit velocity! Impressive pop from the Rookie and I would look to add him before the power comes into play making him a 5-cat threat.

    Jordan Wicks

This one is not technically a September call-up…Jordan Wicks made his debut on August 26th. He has impressed through his first 2 career MLB starts, posting a 1.80 ERA through 10 innings of work. He also lines up to start on Wednesday against the Giants who strikeout at the 4th highest clip in baseball. Even for the rest of the season, I like Jordan Wicks but also picking him up for the stream start is a solid move!
