Fantasy Recap: Week 7 Early Slate 2

  • Giants 23 Jaguars 17 (Giants +140 covered, U 43)

    Key Postgame Stories

The Giants upset the Jaguars on the road behind a huge day on the ground from Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley. They trailed the Jags for most of the game, but they went on a huge time-consuming drive at the end of the fourth quarter. The Jaguars didn’t look great outside of a good game from Travis Etienne, but that wasn’t enough for them to hold on to the win.

    Top Performers

Saquon Barkley: Although he didn’t find the end zone, Barkley still had a big day for fantasy. He totaled 24 carries for 110 yards and added four catches for 25 yards. 17.5 PPR fantasy points without a touchdown is a solid game from Barkley, who is still a top-3 fantasy running back. Barkley looked extremely elusive on Sunday which is great to see after his last couple of years.

Daniel Jones: Daniel Jones threw the ball well, going 19/30 for 202 yards and a touchdown. Jones excelled on the ground, carrying the ball 11 times for 107 yards and a touchdown. He has completely changed his game this year, becoming one of the safer quarterbacks in the NFL. Jones has quietly become one of the best running quarterbacks in football, which has made him a great backup quarterback in fantasy this year.

Travis Etienne: Etienne showed fantasy managers what they wanted to see this week. He had 14 carries for 114 yards and his first NFL touchdown. He only added one catch for five yards, but his rushing total was more than enough to make fantasy managers happy. If Etienne keeps getting touches as often as he did in this game, he’ll start to make fantasy managers happy that they drafted him at his high price tag.

    Biggest Busts

James Robinson: James Robinson had zero touches and only one target on Sunday. Despite his lack of involvement in the offense, he wasn’t injured in this game. Doug Peterson says that they would love to use him when he’s fully healthy, but how can you ever trust Robinson after this game?
