    Buy-Low

    RB Michael Carter, Jets

This is a recommendation to buy low on Carter with the notion that brighter pastures are ahead for the Jets offense as a whole. Last week’s catastrophe in Foxboro was rock bottom, but I believe that head coach Robert Saleh will ultimately bench QB Zach Wilson for Mike White and make this offensive unit less mistake-prone and get back to what it does best – running the football. As someone who rosters Wilson in dynasty, I admit it’s a difficult but rational reality to face that he may not be the answer at quarterback both in the short and long term. The 6-4 Jets are still just one game out of first place in the surprisingly competitive AFC East and are equipped to stay competitive with a top-notch defense and conservative running attack. Mike White isn’t a great option, but he should be good enough – in four starts last season, he registered a 75.1 QBR compared to Wilson’s 72.6 this season. The other big difference is that White only took an average of one sack per game in those starts compared to the three per game Wilson has taken in 20 career games now behind the same offensive line. I believe that taking less sacks will allow for more check downs to Carter, who PFF has graded as above-average in the passing game and should be running closer to 20 routes per game like he did when Wilson was out compared to the 10 per game he’s been running over the last two games.
