MLB Pickups of the Day for April 2nd

  • Welcome back to another edition of our hot add option album. It’s been amazing being able to watch baseball again. My MLB TV has been on in the background all weekend, but let’s get to some potential adds.

It’s important not to overreact in fantasy baseball. I recommend you’re using your streamer and flier slots to be gambling early. We’ll touch on some potential adds.

    Justin Steele (SP):

Justin Steele has rest of season appeal if he can limit his walk rate. Steele had more Ks than innings and a workable ERA in his 2022 second-year campaign for the Cubs. His WHIP has been the only issue. He shoved in his first start of the season going 6 innings with a 0.00 ERA, 0.67 whip, and 8ks against the Brewers. He only had 1 walk.

    Graham Ashcraft (SP):

Ashcraft had a low K rate, high Whip, and High ERA in his 2022 rookie campaign. However, Ashcraft looked much improved in Spring Training. He went 7 innings today against the Pirates, earning the 6 Ks, a 0.00 ERA, and a 0.71 WHIP. He’s one of the more intriguing arms that could be on your wire.
