Welcome to the first dynasty check-in of the season! What, already? It’s only been two weeks! Mark, don’t you tell us constantly that we can’t trust two weeks’ worth of data?

There are plenty of stats that I don’t really care that much about when looking at early-season samples, instead noting them down for future observations instead. There are a handful, however, that actually become indicative of true talent gains even at this point of the season, and that’s what we’ll be discussing today.
It’s Two Weeks! What Can We Actually Determine?
If you’ve read or listened to my work, you know I stress don’t believe small sample sizes. And yet here we are, trying to translate two weeks of basketball into long-term assessments? Mark you can’t be serious here?
For some aspects of play, I won’t be serious. No, I don’t care that Player X shot 60% from the field. I pay little mind that Player Y has only scored 11 points a game when it comes with outlier 34% shooting. What we can examine is more process-based elements, such as free-throw rates, assist rates, and other stats of that ilk.
