The Falcons enter 2024 with significantly increased expectations, bolstered by veteran QB Kirk Cousins and an overhaul of the coaching staff. At 36, coming off an Achilles injury, and having signed a massive contract with the Falcons, Cousins faces a lot of pressure. However, he will benefit from Atlanta’s young offensive weapons and defense, which should set him up for success. The Falcons will aim to shut down the Steelers’ run game early, forcing Pittsburgh to rely on backup quarterback Justin Fields in his debut with the team. Cousins will want to make a statement in his Falcons debut. While I expect Atlanta to secure the victory, I believe taking the spread offers better odds.
