Spain deserved to be a finalist in Euro 2024 with the football they played, while the same cannot be said for England. England did not start the tournament with a satisfactory performance in the group stage. While they eliminated Slovakia in the last 16, they held on until the last second and continued their journey in extra time. In the quarter-finals, they extended the match against Switzerland with a late goal and advanced on penalties. In the semi-final, they fell behind to the Netherlands but made it to the final with a last-minute goal.

Spain won everyone’s sympathy with the way they played throughout the tournament. In the group matches, they defeated Croatia and Italy, then Germany in the quarter-finals, and France in the semi-finals. They advanced to the final by knocking out favorites along the way. The significant differences between how the two teams have performed on the pitch throughout the tournament are evident.

Spain, with their controlled playing structure and possession-based football, and England, with their star-quality players, will both look to find the net in this match. While this is my lower-confidence pick for the day, my top pick for this match is for Spain to achieve the championship they have deserved since the first match of the tournament by winning this match.
