Key Postgame Stories
This showdown between Trevor Siemian and Mike White wasn’t very close. White balled out and furthered his case to remain the Jets’ starting quarterback. Michael Carter and Darnell Mooney left this game early, which led to production from some unfamiliar faces. The Bears will likely begin shutting injured players down for the season, while the Jets picked up another important win as they push for an AFC Wild Card spot.
Top Performers
Mike White: It doesn’t look like Zach Wilson will play anytime soon after White completed 22-of-28 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns. Zach Wilson only threw for 315-plus yards once this year, and he has yet to throw for three touchdowns in 2022. White also had a passer rating of 149.3, which is almost 50 points better than Zach Wilson’s best week. The Jets trust White to throw more than Wilson, which should open up the Jets’ offense moving forward. Mike White is a name to monitor in two-quarterback leagues for the time being.
Garrett Wilson: Wilson caught 5-of-8 targets for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Wilson showed a nice rapport with his new quarterback, as he greatly benefited from the play of White. Wilson showed good downfield skill while also displaying great yards-after-catch potential, as he had his second-most YAC in a game this year. Wilson has played great this year, and his down weeks have mostly been the result of poor quarterback play. White can hopefully limit those down weeks moving forward, making Wilson a WR2 for the rest of the season.
Biggest Busts
Cole Kmet: Kmet enjoyed a nice stretch of games in the middle of the season, but he’s disappointed fantasy managers during the last two weeks. This week, Kmet caught 3-of-6 targets for 27 yards. Siemian is clearly a downgrade for Kmet, but it still isn’t good to see Kmet slump two weeks in a row. Due to tight end being the weakest position in fantasy, Kmet is still a streaming tight end, but his stock goes up if Justin Fields returns.
