Anthony EdwardsSG, Minnesota TimberwolvesThe Wolves have selected Georgia's Anthony Edwards with the first pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Edwards was a clear top-3 selection throughout the pre-draft process, and the Wolves will hope that the athletic guard can pair up with Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell to form the core of a future contender. Edwards has the size and athleticism to become an effective scorer on the wing, with shot selection one of the big drawbacks. His court vision is good but not great, and his defensive play has yet to match up to his physical tools, but he should be a fit as long as he's able to iron out the inconsistencies in his game. There are also whispers that Edwards may not be as passionate about basketball as one would expect, but the talent is undeniable. Despite constant reports of Minnesota hoping to trade down, they ultimately held onto the pick. Edwards figures to start from day one and has the highest ceiling of any player in this draft class. We'll see if the Wolves' development staff can help him hit it.
