• Russell Westbrook
    PG, Houston Rockets

Shams Charania is reporting that the Rockets and Wizards have spoken about a deal that would see Russell Westbrook and John Wall swap rosters, though there has been no traction yet.

To this point only the Knicks and Hornets have been reported to show interest in Westbrook whatsoever, but the Rockets should be able to do better than this, even with Westbrook's gargantuan salary. Wall, coming off an Achilles tear, has tons of questions surrounding his ability to play since his game was so dependent on speed and athleticism, while Westbrook's reported desire to be The Man again wouldn't exactly mesh with Bradley Beal's top dog status in Washington. The Wizards might be running out of time to convince Beal that they can surround him with an adequate roster, so credit the front office for thinking creatively. Houston appears to hold the keys to the offseason now, with a star duo that wants out.
