James HardenPG, Houston RocketsAdrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Mike D'Antoni has informed the Rockets he won't be returning next season.
D'Antoni is a coaching free agent who turned down extension offers prior to this season, and that situation had been quietly looming over the Houston campaign that ended on Saturday. Multiple outlets have reported that the Pacers would have interest in D'Antoni, while Woj connects him to the Sixers and Kevin O'Connor has linked him to the Pelicans. As for the Rockets, they have perhaps the most unique roster in the entire league and management has a specific vision for how they should play. Assuming they don't deviate too far from that, it's a coaching job that will require most mainstream candidates to embrace a different style of play than they've practiced elsewhere. Yahoo's Chris Haynes has already mentioned Tyronn Lue as a potential option for Houston.
