Russell WestbrookPG, Houston RocketsSpeaking after Saturday's Game 5 defeat, Russell Westbrook said that his right quad still isn't 100% healed.
While Westbrook took a beating from media and fans for a pretty ugly playoff run, he clearly wasn't at full strength. A positive COVID-19 diagnosis put him behind the eight ball and the quad injury prevented him from getting into rhythm. He was notably trying to force things in his first couple of playoff games, and while the Rockets escaped the first round, an out-of-whack Westbrook was a huge negative against an elite Lakers outfit. His flaws as a player have never been more apparent and Westbrook figures to use the current discourse as a huge motivator for next year. You can say whatever you'd like about his game, but Westbrook always goes full tilt and owns mistakes.
