Anthony DavisPF-C, Los Angeles LakersSpeaking to media via Zoom on Tuesday, Frank Vogel said that there is "some concern" that Anthony Davis (eye) may not play in Thursday's season re-opener.
The NBA really is back. Davis was forced from Saturday's scrimmage after getting poked in the eye and was ruled out for Monday. That was assumed to be a glorified rest day, but he was also unable to practice on Tuesday, casting some doubt on his future availability. Davis, a surefire top-two selection in any fantasy format, is injecting a ton of risk into resumption leagues here. One missed game isn't enough to dissuade people from drafting AD entirely, but if he's unable to play on Thursday that will mean he misses 12.5% of the schedule at minimum. He's never been known as a fast healer, either. Kyle Kuzma will be the big beneficiary in any games that Davis does miss.
