• Alex Caruso
    SG, Los Angeles Lakers

Alex Caruso returned from a one-game absence due to a back contusion on Saturday, picking up three points and two assists in 11 minutes of work.

The Lakers probably took it easy on Caruso, but the solid play of Dion Waiters and J.R. Smith (in an admittedly small and meaningless sample) could portend trouble for his workload when the real games start. Smith produced six points on 1-of-5 shooting in 20 minutes today while Waiters cooked up 12 points and two 3-pointers in his 20 minutes. If the Lakers do indeed trot out a three-headed guard monster off the bench, it'll prevent any of the trio from holding even late-round value in resumption leagues. Caruso remains the best bet for production give his overall skill set, but Waiters and Smith are putting up a good fight for playing time.
