• Just when you thought summer was ending, here we are again with above-average temperatures in many areas and a mini heat wave in the Midwest. Medium range weather models show that the warm weather could continue through next weekend, too, so our fantasy hitters should get a little boost as we steam toward the end of the 2025 season. Additional good news is that rain is unlikely to be a problem for the next several days.

Let’s check out which games to target and which to avoid based on weather conditions for the next seven days.

    TARGETS:

    This Weekend’s Best Hitting Environments

    • Houston at Atlanta (Friday-Sunday; no surprise here as it’s still hot in Georgia with temps near 85 degrees for all three games)
    • Pittsburgh at Washington (Friday-Sunday; 75 to 82 degrees for this series)
    • Arizona at Minnesota (Friday-Sunday; Minneapolis is rebounding from recent cool weather and will be in the 80s all weekend)
    • Cincinnati at A’s (Friday-Sunday; it’s still warm in Sacramento where temps will be near 80 degrees for each game)

    Targets for Early Next Week:

    • Toronto at Tampa Bay (Monday-Thursday; excellent blend of warmth and humidity with temps approaching 85 each game although there is a small chance of a thunderstorm daily)
    • Cincinnati at St. Louis (Monday-Wednesday; hottest series of the week as it should be close to 90 degree each game)
    • Seattle at Kansas City (Tuesday-Thursday; temps well into the 80s each game)
    • Miami at Colorado (Tuesday-Thursday; the obligatory “Rockies at Coors” recommendation although the temps won’t be anything special at 70-75 degrees)

Those are the best games to target. Now let’s see which ones to avoid during the next seven days:
