Uh oh.
Snow at Coors this weekend? Yes, unfortunately. Fantasy managers anticipate their hitters playing at Coors Field. However, Denver’s weather in April can be risky, especially this weekend when postponements are expected. They could get 1-2 inches of snow on Friday and a rain/snow mix possibly ending in time for Saturday’s game. Not good. The only way to salvage this home series is to take advantage of Sunday’s much better weather by playing a makeup doubleheader. Meanwhile, it is GREAT to have a warm and windy day at Wrigley on Friday, but it’s a one-day hitting affair because much colder air arrives before Saturday’s game and continues Sunday.
Enough of the intro – let’s find favorable weather to help your hitters and bad weather to avoid over the next seven days (April 18-24). Also, info regarding how to use weather forecasts to your team’s advantage is at the bottom of this article.
TARGETS: This Weekend’s Best Hitting Environments
- Arizona at Chicago Cubs (Friday only; this is the best hitting environment of any day this week as temperatures will be over 75 degrees and winds will BLOW OUT at 25-35 mph!)
- NY Yankees at Tampa Bay (Friday-Sunday; clear skies and hot all three games with temps at least 85 degrees in MLB’s hottest weekend series)
- Minnesota at Atlanta (Friday-Sunday; about as good as the series above as temps will be 80-85 each game)
- Cincinnati at Baltimore (Friday-Sunday; not quite as warm as the two series above but still decent, plus gusty outbound winds on Friday)
- Miami at Philadelphia (Friday-Sunday; decent temps at 68-75 degrees along with a helpful outbound wind of 20+ mph Friday and Saturday)
