Weather Impacts on Your Fantasy Players (August 19-25)

  • An unusually strong summer cold front will keep the Midwest and entire Northeast 5 to 15 degrees cooler than average with lower humidity Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. That’s a great combination for our comfort but not for our fantasy hitters. In fact, some teams will face their worst hitting conditions of the summer so far (not necessarily bad; just not as good as in recent weeks).

There’s a double dose of good news regarding the weather. First, there’s a nice warmup coming by the weekend. Humidities will still be lower than average for summer but the increased temps will allow for better hitting conditions at many ballparks by the weekend. The other good news is that rain chances are lower this week almost everywhere. There’s a very small risk of a rainout for Monday’s Orioles/Mets game in New York but I doubt any other games will be threatened by rain this week.
