Saturday Pickups: Fantasy Basketball Adds for 11/16

  • Welcome to Saturday Night Pickups! Or should it be Saturday evening pickups? Whatever the case, we’re here and ready to roll. The schedule gives us a nice early start and plenty of time to think about adds before lineups lock tomorrow. Let’s get to it!

    Standard Leagues

    (<50% rostered on Yahoo)

Brandon Boston Jr., SG/SF, New Orleans Pelicans (41% rostered)

Tonight: 36 minutes, 12 points (4-of-12 FG, 2-of-2 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, one steal, two 3-pointers

Analysis: Please just pick him up already.

Jordan Clarkson, SG/SF, Utah Jazz (48% rostered)

Tonight: 30 minutes, 17 points (7-of-18 FG, 2-of-4 FT), three rebounds, five assists, three steals, one 3-pointer

Analysis: Clarkson’s game is consistent. Whether he’s starting or not you know exactly how he’s going to play and exactly what that looks like when he’s playing well. It’s not something that will suit every fantasy roster, but it should suit enough that he’s on the radar in standard formats.

Moussa Diabate, C, Charlotte Hornets (19% rostered)

Tonight: 25 minutes, 12 points (6-of-7 FG), 14 rebounds, one assist, one steal, three blocks

Analysis: Diabate can’t seem to lock down the starting spot but he’s earning more minutes by the day and is an automatic add for managers in need of rebounds and blocks at this point. The train should keep rolling while Mark Williams and Nick Richards are out, and while Diabate’s role does come with a low floor every now and then, he’s playing well enough that the risk is well worth the reward.
