• The committee of Dodgers arms continues. An All-Star lost his closer’s job and there are some injuries to note. And is it over for Alexis Diaz as the closer in Cincy?

And of course the holds situation is always changing.

For the closer’s roles, I have four tiers:

Strong – No reason to believe they will be losing the job.

Solid – They are still the closer, but there is a chance it can change.

Weak – They’re a CINO  (Closer in name only) and are in clear danger of losing the job.

Committee – there is no set closer and numerous arms could get the call.

For holds, I’ll be listing the names of the dudes who have gotten holds most recently and telling you which ones to trust.

    Milwaukee Brewers
Closer – Devin Williams – Strong (LW: Strong)

Devin Williams got the only three saves for the Brewers over the last seven days. He did struggle with his command, allowing three walks, hitting a batter and throwing one wild pitch.

He was able to work around it for the three saves while not allowing a run and striking out four.

The control issues are something to note but he still has a strong hold on the ninth.

    Holds

Joel Payamps and Bryan Hudson each got a hold over the last seven days.

Payamps’ two runs allowed are the only two runs he has allowed in his last ten outings and he is a solid arm to roster for holds.

He is the only consistent holds option in this ‘pen at the moment as maybe Jared Koenig can be added for an outside shot at a hold.
