Welcome to my 2024 offseason dynasty rankings! With a new crop of rookies, free agency having dealt its hand, and a full season sample to reflect on, there are oodles of changes to my dynasty rankings. I’ve been hard at work the last month and a half curating these rankings, ensuring they balance and reflect value for teams of various dynasty states. 45 rookies made the Top-350 cut this season, with an additional two players sneaking in due to projected value and/or performance during the season.
Once again, tiers are a loose guideline. Players within a tier are somewhat close together in my eyes, with factors such as fantasy team state (contending or rebuilding), stat preference, upside, and aging playing a role in stratifying players. Don’t sweat over the actual ranking too much – the general range in which players fall is much more important than the specific ranking. In this version. I’ve also included rank changes to log trends.
It’s important to keep in mind with so many new players added to the dynasty pool, there will be a greater volume of players that dropped in rankings rather than rising. While that is partly reflective of the individual’s failure to increase their dynasty stock, it is also just a function of intriguing rookies with a wide band of variance entering into the dynasty rankings.
With so many new players entering the rankings, others have dropped out. I’ve noted the 47 players that have fallen from the Top-350 below, with their previous rank in parentheses. Note that for formatting reasons, the new players and rookies entering the Top-350 have their ranks as “0” in the full rankings.

Mark C’s FREE Dynasty Category Rankings – August 2024
Rank Player Rank Change Age Team Notes 1 Victor Wembanyama 0 20.6 San Antonio Wemby has solidifed himself at the top. If there's already a question if he's the number one pick in redraft, he's the no-doubt top dog in dynasty formats. 2 Luka Doncic 1 25.5 Dallas The top isolation player in the game. We'll have to see if his FT% improvement lasts, but that is enough to just nudge him over others in this range. 3 Nikola Jokic -1 29.5 Denver Jokic is still awesome and ultra-consistent, but others have caught up. 4 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 0 26.1 Oklahoma City Insane scoring paired with elite steals and FT%. He's only lower because I value the assists as a greater categoryof importance compared to the steals and FT% SGA can provide. 5 Tyrese Haliburton 0 24.5 Indiana It was clear to me Haliburton's subpar second-half was fueled by a lingering injury. I'm anticiapting him returning close to his peak we saw in the first half of the 23-24 season. 6 Jayson Tatum 0 26.4 Boston Tatum is an extremely consistent player with both stats and playtime. High volume of threes keeps FG% down a bit. Great all-around game with little fantasy holes. 7 Anthony Edwards 2 23.0 Minnesota Edwards needs to translate his playmaking from the playoffs to the regular season to jump up a tier. He has made modest improvements, but he's still not super efficient nor a playmaking hub. This ranking reflects more positively on his youth rather than his per-game upside. 8 Chet Holmgren -1 22.3 Oklahoma City Chet is producing across every category in just his rookie year. He already looks so polished and still has room to grow. 9 Donovan Mitchell -1 27.9 Cleveland An elite scorer who made some strides in efficiency and steals to round out his fantasy game. 10 Joel Embiid 0 30.4 Philadelphia We should probably resign ourselves to the fact Embiid will miss games during the regular season. However, the per-game upside is too much to ignore. The longevity of his career is more in question, but there should be some highly productive seasons ahead. 11 LaMelo Ball 0 23.0 Charlotte The recent ankle sprain injury concerns me as these injuries keep adding up. However, I can't ignore the gains Ball has made in his finishing and FG%. There's a buy-low window here if you can stomach some of the injury risk. 12 Trae Young 1 25.9 Atlanta With the Hawks moving on from DeJounte Murray, Trae Young looks primed to be the main offensive engine in Atlanta. He has fantasy warts with his FG%, poor boards, and poor blocks. His strengths in assists, FT%, points, and threes more than make up for it. 13 Devin Booker 1 27.8 Phoenix Booker has been tasked with greater playmaking usage, and he has responded admirably. Should led Phoenix to entrust Booker with this role going forward. The short-term arrival of Tyus Jones impacts this somewhat though. 14 Scottie Barnes 1 23.0 Toronto Some of Scottie's percentages still leave me wary of his scoring output (midrange and three-point numbers specifically). But Scottie has earned more usage and looks more comfortable getting to his spots. Tack on improved steal and block rates, and the fantasy breakout is here. 15 Giannis Antetokounmpo -3 29.7 Milwaukee Defensive stats have jumped back up, and everything looks like what we're used to even, with Lillard in town. 16 Tyrese Maxey 2 23.8 Philadelphia Paul George is now in Philadelphia, who should take some usage out of Maxey's hands. That said, we could see Maxey's efficiency tick back up with slightly lower usage. 17 Alperen Sengun -1 22.0 Houston Sengun will have an offseason to adjust as NBA teams gameplan against him. I'm excited to see how he responds. 18 Anthony Davis 1 31.4 LA Lakers I get the injury concerns, but AD is such a solid producer except in triples. I'm willing to ride out his production as he heads out of his prime. 19 Jalen Williams 7 23.3 Oklahoma City Williams' self-creation stats are rather eye-popping. It's not tapped into as much with SGA in the fold, but the Thunder most likely have their second on-ball offensive star in-house. Offseason moves only re-enforce this idea further. 20 Lauri Markkanen 1 27.2 Utah The Silly Season Jazz have been aggrevating for Markkanen mangers, I get it. Lauri produces so well in multiple categories that I'm willing to overlook team context. 21 Evan Mobley -1 23.2 Cleveland Mobley had some good offensive flashes without Jarrett Allen. I'm not fully sold, but I'm hoping the Cavs tap into it a bit more next season. 22 Cade Cunningham 7 22.9 Detroit The Pistons are a complete mess, but Cade is part of that mess. I haven't been impressed by the aspects Cade can control and think the imagined fantasy upside with him is dwindling. The ranking increase is more a reflection of others around him impressing less and factoring in some unlikely high-end scenarios. 23 Jaren Jackson Jr. 5 24.9 Memphis The past season in Memphis was a complete loss. I am fine to look past last season and see a mini-bounceback for JJJ. 24 Jalen Brunson 10 28.0 New York The Knicks are building around Brunson as their creation hub. He is clearly their star, and I favor his points and assists highly for dynasty. Want to get access to the rest of Mark’s dynasty rankings? You’ll need to have a FANTASYPASS membership.
