Welcome to Friday Night Pickups: Fantasy Basketball Adds for 12/27! We’ve got a big slate of games to go over, let’s avoid the punches and see who is out there to grab. Let’s get into it!
Standard Leagues
(<50% rostered on Yahoo)
Spencer Dinwiddie, PG,SG, DAL (17% rostered)
Tonight: 23 minutes, 15 points (5-of-12 FG, 4-for-4 FT), three rebounds, three assist, two steals, one block, one trey
Analysis: With Luka Doncic scheduled to miss at least the next month due to a left calf strain, there is a massive gap of lost production in his absence. Sure, Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson will probably see a decent uptick in usage but Dinwiddie has proven before that he can fill in admirably when needed to. Chances are he’ll get a decent stretch of opportunity here until Luka returns, if he has games like this then he’s worthy of an add. If he can get an uptick in minutes then we’ll really see the wheels turning.
Royce O’Neale, SF,PF, PHX (26% rostered)
Tonight: 30 minutes, 14 points (5-of-10 FG), five rebounds, four steals, two steals, two blocks, four treys
Analysis: Another player that will be given additional looks due to injury is Royce O’Neale. Usually a dependable veteran, decent usage on a star-filled Phoenix team has been the biggest hurdle for him. With the recent groin injury to Devin Booker and the ejections from Friday night, Royce found himself in a good situation which helped him round out his stat line. Booker sounds like he’ll be sidelined for another game or so which could be good for a short term hold. If any suspensions are handed out as a result of the fight then that would be even more reason to add Royce.
