• We have a busy Wednesday of NBA Cup action on deck, with 23 teams still battling for a spot in the knockout round. The Wizards got their first ever NBA Cup win last night in a beatdown of the Hawks, powered by a hot shooting start that built up an insurmountable lead. The team hit their first eight 3-pointers and CJ McCollum hit seven triples in the first half alone as part of a throwback 46-point performance. He’s had some wild ups and downs but on balance, McCollum has produced top-125 value with big spike nights in points and 3-pointers. If you have him — and are willing to put him in the lineup every night to make sure you catch those explosions — he’s still making the grade in fantasy.

The Sixers got smoked on their home floor with Anthony Black delivering the game of his life, and Jalen Suggs was on the way to a pretty big performance himself before getting tossed in a little altercation with Andre Drummond and Jabari Walker. Apparently Drummond was trying to stir the pot to wake up the crowd and kickstart his team, but the Sixers lost by 40 so…

Joel Embiid and Paul George had a shot at playing but got ruled out; Embiid was reportedly trending towards playing before reporting a little soreness in his knee, while George was downgraded from a probable tag. The beat goes on in Philly.

The Lakers took home a victory over the floundering Clippers as their Big 3 combined for 99 points. Luka Doncic had 24 in the first quarter alone and Austin Reaves put the game to bed late, scoring 12 points in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter. Along the way LeBron James found 25-6-6 with two triples and two defensive stats. They look good.

    Top Pickups

This is the “general must-add” section regardless of the slate. If these players are being overlooked and remain chilling on the waiver wire, consider adding them to your squad.

    Anthony Black (21%)

Black was the star of Tuesday’s blowout victory over the Sixers. He had scored a career-high 27 points by the time the first half had ended and wrapped things up with 31, adding three assists, a steal and four 3-pointers. It’s taken three seasons but Black looks to have taken a much-needed step in his development and now has some offensive punch to go with the defensive attributes that kept him on the floor in his first two campaigns. Already a strong defensive specialist, Black is now providing decent points with some 3-pointers and a good mark from the field. He has benefited from Jalen Suggs’ minutes limit in the early going (and Suggs’ ejection tonight) but Black is doing enough to stand on his own two feet fantasy-wise.

    Khris Middleton (9%)
