Let’s get ready for a five-game Sunday.

Pickups for Next Week
I am tired, but I wanted to do something a bit different here for Sunday. I am not including the roster percentages for the sake of saving some time, sorry.
Keep in mind, Wednesday of next week is a 12-game day.
Nique Clifford
The Kings play on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday next week, which are all the low-volume days. Clifford brings steals and a fairly balanced stat profile aside from some very bad FG%. Clifford could lose you FG%, so your ability to stomach his negatives in that area will depend on your ability to ride with him.
Daniss Jenkins
The Pistons play on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday next week. Jenkins could also be a bad efficiency player at times, but his value in points, threes, assists and steals could be immense.
Reed Sheppard
A career-high 14 assists and a starting job for the next two weeks or so at a minimum makes Sheppard as must-roster as he has ever been. The Rockets play on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday next week.
Tre Jones
Since the Bulls had three days off (Friday to Sunday), Jones was likely dropped. I dropped him myself in a 12-team semifinal this week. Jones plays on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday next week and should be considered as an add for points, assists and steals if he is on your waiver wire.
Moussa Diabate
If you need rebounds, steals and blocks, Diabate plays on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday next week, which avoids the 12-game Wednesday and the two 10-game days as well.
Honorable Mentions
Consider this space a blend of “double-check to see if this guy isn’t available” and other noteworthy, but not quite top picks, including some names for deep leagues.
Taylor Hendricks
Javon Small
Tristan da Silva
De’Anthony Melton
Derrick Jones
Quentin Grimes
Naji Marshall, PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford
Ryan Nembhard (assists specialist)
Ace Bailey
Elijah (EJ) Harkless (safer for deep leagues)

Games
Trail Blazers – Nuggets @ 5:00 ET
Nets – Kings @ 6:00 ET
Wizards – Knicks @ 7:30 ET
Timberwolves – Celtics @ 8:00 ET
Raptors – Suns @ 9:00 ETTeams on Second Night of a Back-to-Back
Note: Teams on the second night of a back-to-back must submit their injury report by the release of the 4:15 pm ET Official NBA Injury Report.ย
PHX, WAS
Suns: Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale, Amir Coffey and Haywood Highsmith were out on Saturday with seemingly day-to-day listings. All four can be viewed as uncertain at best for Sunday, as I wouldn’t classify any of these as back-to-back rest.
Wizards: Tre Johnson and Leaky Black are the main names to know that sat out on Saturday. I would expect Alex Sarr to rest on Sunday.
Extra note: Since Sunday is the end of five games in seven nights for both the Wizards and Suns, do not be surprised if we get some “unexpected” names on the injury report.
Teams on First Night of a Back-to-Back
BKN, TOR, POR
Nets: Nic Claxton is out for rest and Terance Mann is probable.
Raptors: Collin Murray-Boyles is questionable to return from a 10-game absence.
Blazers: Jerami Grant and Vit Krejci are both questionable.
Top Stories to Watch
Peyton Watson (right hamstring strain) set to return from a 19-game absence on Sunday!
Denver’s Peyton Watson is expected to return Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers after missing 6+ weeks due to a hamstring strain, sources tell ESPN. Watson has had a breakout year for the Nuggets, averaging career highs of 14.9 points, 30.7 minutes and 4.9 rebounds to goโฆ

I blurbed this Watson update earlier on Saturday and these were my thoughts on him:
The Nuggets were hopeful to get Watson back by the end of this week and it ended up actually being the last day of the week. Watson can be viewed as a flier for deep leagues if you need steals, blocks and rebounds. Despite the breakout he showed us midseason, the Nuggets are now healthier, which should mean fewer touches for Watson, while he may have some restrictions since the last time he suited up was on February 4.
Watson is officially questionable for Sunday, but you can likely lean toward him playing. Before you stream on Sunday, be mindful that:
- The Wolves & Suns only have two games next week
- The Kings have a standout schedule next week
Of course, if you have a close matchup this Sunday and a player from the Wolves or Suns makes the most sense to help you win, go with the player that ensures your victory this week from the Wolves or Suns. You cannot worry about a future matchup if you don’t qualify for it. If you have a legitimate 50-50 choice however, maybe leaning toward the “other player” would make sense due to the schedules next week. The Suns do play on Tuesday next week, so that isn’t bad and they could be held for that and then dropped since their next game would be on Saturday. However, the Wolves play on the 12-game Wednesday and then the Saturday, which is almost as bad as a two-game schedule could get as that high-volume Wednesday may result in one-game weeks for some of your Wolves who you may not play on that day.
