• The Lions made NFL history this season as the first team ever, with two running backs and two wide receivers all topping a thousand yards in a single season. On top of that, they finished with remarkable end-of-season fantasy ranks.  1st in the running back position, 3rd in wide  receivers, and 7th at the quarterback position. The Lions were simply one of the best statistical offensive teams in NFL history in 2024, as they were also number one in the league in total points per game (33.1), average scoring margin (+11.6), and red zone scoring.  If you invested in them last season, you likely found your way to a fantasy championship. The difficult reality is that the new offensive coordinator, John Morton, has experience building surging offenses, like being an instrumental part of Bo Nix’s rookie season in Denver. Even with that, this team comes back in full effect with Jared off leading a quarterback, the Sonic and Knuckles duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, the receiving core of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Tim Patrick who all shared duties pretty consistently throughout the year but they should be a clear 123 punch this year.  Tight end Sam Laporta had a difficult fantasy season last year but should be in line for a bounce-back and be a fantastic fantasy draft pick in 2025. Finally, this offensive line continues to be a great stronghold led by Taylor Decker,  Frank Ragnow, and Penei Sewell

Player most likely to beat ADP: Sam LaPorta (ADP 77, TE4)

Tight end is always one of these positions that can completely make fantasy football an exhaustive endeavor, as tight end streaming is one that we like to avoid at all costs.  But while you were trying to shape out the other piece of your roster, Sam Laporta will be ignored down the board due to his fantasy cuttable in 2024.  The reality is the Lions’ offense will find a way to recenter him and make him a fun vocal point.  Leading fantasy managers who are willing to ignore  2024 and look at an upside rookie year as a more valuable starting point should find themselves pleased, as the tight end waiver wire won’t concern them until the Lions’ Week 8 bye.

Player most likely to fade based on ADP: Jameson Williams (ADP 70, WR36)

Unfortunately, even with our excitement about including Jameson Williams in the Lions offense and its fantasy prowess, we have to put Jameson Williams in this slot.  This is also primarily due to the depth at receiver being plentiful, which increases the likelihood that Jameson Williams will not be seen at the top end of your roster.  in the twenties range we have a lot of great receivers that might be more preferable considering the draft slot including George Pickens who found a new home in Dallas And DK  Metcalf in Pittsburgh.  Considering the depth, it might be preferable to look at a running back in this slot versus any wide receivers around this range.

Late-round Flier that could blow up: Jared Goff (ADP 105, QB12)

QB12 is such an interesting place for Jared Goff to be in fantasy circles, around the range of Dak Prescott and the mobile Kyler Murray.  But ultimately, we argue that Improvement is on the rise. He was a fun waiver wire player last year that you started in certain opportune matchups down the stretch.  The Lions’ Schedule provides a lot of those late-season opportunities once again in 2025. Still, there’s no reason that if you’re one of those players who wait a good while for a quarterback in standard leagues, you shouldn’t consider waiting a bit longer for Jared Goff, as he can be a more than capable starter for players who are willing to be patient.
