We got some committees, performance concerns and a potential injury that is changing the landscape for saves over the last week.
What is going on with the committee in Detroit? Is Devin Williams doing any better? How has Luke Weaver done? Is Camilo Doval forcing his way into the role for the Giants? Is Luke Jackson healthy? Do we panic on Raisel Iglesias?
And then you have the ever changing holds landscape.
I got your answers in my latest installment of Paul’s Call to the ‘Pen!
The closer’s I will label in the following tiers (I’ve added a fourth tier from last year):
Strong – they are definitely the closer.
Probably – they look to be the closer, for now.
Weak – I’m not betting on them to be the closer in the long-term
Committee – We just don’t know who will get the ball in the ninth. Shrug.Alright, let’s get into it!
NOTE; All stats are for games played through May 19.
Braves
Closer – Raisel Iglesias – Strong
Igesias got two saves while Pierce Johnson got one.
It has been ugly lately for Iglesias as he has allowed a run in four of his last five outings. .
Iglesias did go two in a row prior to Johnson’s save and Iglesias got the two saves after, but if these struggles continue, the Braves will have to make a swap.
Johnson and Dylan Lee are speculative adds in 15-team formats. .
Holds
Lee got two holds while Rafael Montero, Johnson, Aaron Bummer Enyel De Los Santos and Daysbel Hernandez. each got one.
Lee and Johnson are the two must adds right now in holds leagues.
Hernandez is a dart throw as he keeps popping up here and snagging a hold. He is a deeper league dart throw.
