The NBA and NBPA have agreed to an amended CBA that will have free agency open at 6:00 PM Eastern on November 20, with signings allowed at 12:01 PM on November 22.
Buckle up. That means free agency will start less than two days after the draft, so we should get a crazy flurry of player movement with the season to start a month after signings can be made official. Additionally, there's progress in talks that would open the league's transaction window (for trades, opt-ins and opt-outs, etc.) two or three days before the draft. If you're into the other nitty gritty details, the salary cap and luxury tax will remain the same as they were last season ($109.1 million and $132.7 million, respectively) and the two sides will keep the typical 10 percent escrow from player salaries.
