K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago is reporting that the Bulls will not extend a qualifying offer to Kris Dunn, and that the Clippers are expected to pursue Dunn in free agency.
The writing was on the wall for Dunn after Chicago brought in two point guards last offseason, but it is a bit of a surprise that the Bulls are just letting him walk without putting up a fight given the strong season he just turned in. He averaged 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and an elite 2.0 steals per game, also showing the ability to defend 1-through-3. While he's not much of an offensive player, Dunn's perimeter defense should make him a worthwhile target for any guard-needy team.
