A source told NBC Sports Boston that the rumors that Jayson Tatum is reluctant to play when the season returns are “Not true.”

A report from New York Daily News earlier this week suggested that Tatum was hesitant to return over concerns that he would get injured and impact his opportunity to sign a max extension this offseason. A source told NBC Sports Boston that “He’s concerned like every other player about returning to play. There’s a lot… going on in the world that players need to be more concerned about. But sitting out because of the contract? Hell no!” The source continued to say that the rising COVID-19 cases in Orlando were a bigger concern for Tatum than the risk of injury.
