Omarion Hampton – Chargers – Ankle
Hampton suffered an ankle injury and did not return in the Chargers’ Week 5 loss to the Commanders. Turns out it’s a significant one as the Chargers placed him on short term injured reserve, which will keep him out for at least the next four games. Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal will assume the running back duties but this one is a great unknown as we don’t know how the Chargers will not only distribute touches, but they’ve become more of a pass first offense so their fantasy relevance is a giant unknown. With limited waiver wire options, it could be beneficial to snag both, but playing a guessing game of snagging one or the other wouldn’t help. The Chargers have also signed Nyhiem Hines to their practice squad, and he has a legitimate shot to play this week so this is a situation to monitor.

Premium Access RequiredJaylen Warren – Steelers – Knee
Warren missed the Steelers’ Week 4 game against the Vikings in Ireland and benefitted from the bye week as he is trending towards playing in Week 6 against the Browns. He practiced on Monday and head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday he is trending towards playing. If he can go he should be started and will hold RB2/Flex value against the Browns, Kenneth Gainwell, has been productive and could still be used as a FLEX if need be.
Chuba Hubbard – Panthers – Calf
Hubbard suffered a calf injury late last week and was forced to miss the Panthers’ win over the Dolphins. Rico Dowdle stepped in and absolutely dominated so if Hubbard can’t go, Dowdle will again start but he is likely already gone off waivers as he will hold high end RB2 value going against a Cowboys team struggling mightily to stop the run. If Dowdle isn’t available, look to scoop up both Chargers running backs or Kenneth Gainwell whose buzz may have died down during the Steelers’ bye week.
Brenton Strange – Jaguars – Hip
Strange suffered a hip injury in the Jaguars’ win over the Chiefs on Monday night and was placed on short term injured reserve, keeping him out for at least the next four games. Johnny Mundt will take over as the Jaguars’ starting tight end, but looking to the waiver wire to grab Pat Freirmuth, Theo Johnson, or a last call for Mason Taylor might be your best bet if you need to fill that spot.
