So this is where you've been hiding?
Looking for some upside in a spot that currently doesn't see the light of day. Just got Mirotic as a trade throw-in and picked up Jennings since I have no idea what's going on in Orlando and I'm a Oladipo owner. Time to dump one or both? Len, Leuer, your boy Danny Green, Bazemore, and Taj sitting on the wire.
8 Category - Roto Scoring and I just gave up a ton of FG% and points in a recent trade in order to help in steals, rebounds, and assists.
Going down the list ...
Len - I think there is an organizational mandate to play the guy and I think he is a must-own guy, so I'd drop either of Mirotic or Jennings for him.
Mirotic's timetable worries me. You might get a month of games played out of him at best, maybe 2 weeks?
Jennings has probably a 50% chance at top-125 value. I couldn't think of a worse piece for Skiles to get his hands on to screw up the rest of the group. As of last game, he and Payton were sharing the same bucket of minutes and Skiles was actually using singular buckets for most of the positions -- interesting.
Danny Green (not my boy, but alas he is still killing me) has been about a top-75 guy lately and he *might* have top-50 upside but altogether I rated him at No. 68 to account for what his upside can do versus his downside. Upside is much more important to me than the slog of guys rated similarly at 75-150.
I'm not dropping Baze in 12-team leagues but I'm not rating him more highly than a top 100-125 asset going forward. The only reason I'm doing that is the Hawks have no other great options.
Taj is a low-end play for 12-team leagues.
I think you ditch both Jennings and Mirotic for Green and Len.
Hey Peter,
I would drop Leuer, Mirotic, Danny Green, Taj, Jennings, Len, Bazemore in that order.
Leuer seems like he has to compete with Len, Chandler, Teletovic, and Humphries (without having any proven ability) for minutes. It's just crowded and seems like Len and Teletovic are the best options of that bunch.
The Bulls always seem to under-estimate timelines for injuries and I don't see a great spot for Mirotic upon his return. The 3, 4, and 5 spots seem to be stacked for the Bulls with Dunleavy, McDermott, Gasol, Taj, and Portis. Gasol will always get his minutes because he is a reliable offensive weapon which means the Bulls need to pair him with an interior defender at the 5 (Portis and Taj). I don't see much upside for Mirotic when he comes back.
I hope it all goes well!
Man, I missed Leuer - here's the thing - if you told me that Leuer would stop getting messed with I'd take him over Green. He has looked really good in his minutes and the Suns are nuts for not playing him. But maybe watch their next game and if Watson is still all over the board I'd leave it the same -- add Len and Green for your current Jennings and Mirotic. But if Watson figures it out and Leuer gets 25 mpg, then I think he's going to start making headway and move into a top-75 position. That would be better than gambling on Green.
I just need to get Zaza out of my lineup. Dude hasn't blocked a shot in over a month. I would be happy to replace him with Len from last year but it seems like he forgot his shot blocking skills under the bench.
I think Len's ankles have killed his explosion and lateral movement, leading to the lack of blocks. Not sure how he hurts his ankle during All Star week. Zaza is the ultimate house money/found money. Feels like Dallas could have their whole team fold at the same time if it goes south.
