With 23 games in the books for the Kings, including some disgusting loses, a coaching change, and players seemingly checking out, we felt it was time for another healthy and fun roundtable discussion. We bring some new voices on (and one old one) as we break down this bizarre Kings team we simply can't escape.
Losing is never fun- unless you're the Sacramento Kings, who treat losing like their favorite hobby. As such, we can't talk about this team without getting angry, so we find less painful alternatives to discuss in this episode... I question every day my allegiance to this horrid franchise.
The Kings have rediscovered (in some ways) their style from 2018: run-and-gun offense, fun plays, zero defense. It's more exciting to watch, but doesn't change the outlook of this squad. We remain hopeful that a roster reshuffling is coming, and until then- we hope everybody but Buddy Hield will stop shooting threes.
The Kings keep finding new ways to bottom out, forcing us fans to slowly but surely lose hope. Thankfully, hope is a strong feeling- one that true Kings fans haven't had since 2005; we're built for this! But tonight against the streaking Blazers, Sacramento will try and find their groove for a full 48.
The Sacramento Kings and Coaching changes: goes better together than peanut butter and jelly! For the 11th time since Rick Adelman left the team in 2006, SacTown has a new (interim) man on the sidelines. How will they respond tonight against the 76ers? And who may they look at to lead the team past this year? We cover that and more on this Monday pod.
A Fun Friday show with comedian Johnny Taylor, as we cover all the sad Kings news of today- there's never a shortage of that.
Winning is hard to do in the NBA. Putting together a winning streak is even harder. Can the Kings win 2-straight before heading home for 4 games? We're hoping they don't overlook a talented but struggling Wolves squad, and take care of business tonight from Minneapolis. Also, Jill and Sam trade tales from the league's past that highlight how things can always get worse.
The Kings are already headed for no-mans land, with their Head Coach on the brink of losing his job. One thing is for sure: change is coming to Sacramento. Will it be positive and help them get back on track? Or will the misery that's haunted them for 16 seasons persist? Tonight in Detroit, against a terrible Pistons squad, should give us a good gauge as to what's next.
The Kings have lost 3 straight, and shades of last year's losing streaks are harkening back. Can they snap the skid tonight in Oklahoma City? Where will Marvin Bagley's next destination be? All that and more are discussed on this Friday show, co-hosted by Sacramento Republic's emcee Connor Sutton.
The Kings are still looking to find consistency, especially in the second half. On Monday, this issue (and De'Aaron Fox's struggles) shined bright as Sacramento disappeared in the 3rd quarter versus the Suns, only to be resurrected by their deep bench players in the 4th- when it was too late for them to mount a total comeback. The hope (and goal) is to find themselves further on their current 4 game road trip, starting tonight in Texas.
The Sacramento Kings are still trying to figure out if they're legit. After another weekend filled with mixed emotions, we likely won't have an answer any time soon. But we hope an upcoming road trip against NBA bottom feeders can forge this team's true path.
Sam's most famous friend joins the show. Matia Divac, oldest son of Hall of Famer and Kings legend Vlade Divac, comes on today's episode to share his unfiltered, uncut opinions on the Sacramento Kings. A terrific, genuine and hilarious person, you don't want to miss all that Matia has to say! Listen now, and be sure to follow our show on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
The Kings are now 3-4, as we analyze yet another loss to the Utah Jazz. BUT... this squad is undoubtedly a resilient bunch. We touch on a currently broken De'Aaron Fox, the Kings refusal to grab defensive rebounds, and their 4 game home-stand starting tonight against the birds from New Orleans. Finally, we tease our Friday guest, who may or may not have a Hall of Fame Dad. You don't want to miss that episode!!
A face in Kings media, we are happy to have newly-minted dad Matt George (ABC10 and host of the "Locked On" Kings Podcast) guest-hosts this Friday episode with the crew!
The Sacramento Kings kick-off their first road trip of 2021 tonight in Phoenix.
