But the intro to a Bruski 150 has always been more than me standing on the porch ringing a dinner triangle. These in-season re-ranks feel like I just talked to you a month or two ago, but a couple months is a lifetime now in this industry and a lot of others.

What I’m most excited about right now is that while things are moving fast and changing everywhere, we’re building forward here. Not reacting, not chasing, but surfing the wave with intention. Hollywood is struggling. Sports media has been forced to reinventing itself for decades. Even the biggest tech players are being forced to rethink how they operate.

And what keeps showing up, over and over, is that real work still matters. Caring about process still matters. Ethics still matter. When you commit to quality, it has a way of cutting through the noise.

I spend a lot of time thinking about where this industry is headed and what role we can play in helping shape it. There’s a lot of noise on the business side right now, and too often the focus is on doing the least amount of work for the quickest return, without much regard for quality, sustainability or the collective good. That approach has brought us to this moment, and that’s not something to fear. It’s simply a reality.

Like all cycles in life, those doors are starting to close. Individuals are now competing with large companies investing millions, where before the barriers to entry were low or even nonexistent. That isn’t a battle individuals can win by chasing scale or shortcuts. The opportunity, once again, is to be ahead of the curve. That’s a place we feel truly comfortable being and it’s where our investment in quality, collective thinking and long-term sustainability thrives.

And that creates opportunity. Opportunity to lead. Opportunity to raise the bar. Opportunity to show that there is a better, more sustainable way forward.

Social media and streaming platforms are part of the reality now. They are tools, not foundations. Used wisely, they help ideas travel. But real value is built elsewhere, in products, in communities, and in trust. That’s where sustainability lives, and that’s where we have chosen to invest.

The same is true in fantasy basketball itself.

Projecting into the future is hard. Being wrong is part of the deal. But difficulty is not a reason to stop trying. Quite the opposite. THE BRUSKI 150 PROCESS

Creating the Bruski 150 takes about 400 hours between July (August this year) and October and we accumulate corporate knowledge every single season. I do full-blown evaluations of about 450 players overall with about 225 players that end up in the ranks, which as you might have guessed started off as a 150 player list starting in 2010 I believe. Overall I evaluate every player on a roster. This is how we win.

Then, after about a third of the season I take the wind down we see before the NBA cup in terms of schedule and I cram together a Bruski 150 using every available minute and every piece of intel we have gained. Because of the proprietary processes one gains over two decades of doing this, no stone is left unturned and it's possible to do a sophisticated re-rank in the small amount of time.

The results in comparison to other fantasy hoops intel your competition is using just isn't a fair fight.

LAST SEASON'S RESULTS

And WIN we did! Even with the competition buying the Bruski 150 and using it against me, I was still able to run wild in public high stakes leagues, with 6-of-6 Main Event squads finishing top-4 in possibly my best season ever, bringing back right around $20,000. I got another FSWA nomination to bring my total to four (including two FSWA Writer of the Year awards), which are largely because of these ranks.
