• I accidentally wrote Working the Wire last week, when I was supposed to be doing a different column. That’s what happens when I fail to use my elaborate alarm system correctly. So here’s another one, just a week later. Here’s the list of hot players with low rostership in the fantasy landscape right now.

    Must Adds

Kel’el Ware Heat C 46% rostered in Yahoo! leagues

Ware is still starting next to Bam Adebayo and is still the hottest pickup in fantasyland. He’s double-doubled in three of his last four games and has played at a high level since his minutes spiked on Jan. 13. That’s eight games worth of data to study and he’s officially my favorite to win Rookie of the Year. He’s a mini Victor Wembanyama, minus the assists, and he’s blocked a shot in all but two of his January games, and has hit a 3-pointer in six straight, as well in all but five games this month. Walk, don’t run, to pick him up if he’s still available in your league.

    Scoot Henderson Blazers PG 41%

Scoot hit a rough patch on Thursday and Friday when he fouled out of one game and played just 23 minutes for two points in the other. Outside of that, he’s had a great month and bounced back with 25 points, five triples, five rebounds, a three and a block on Sunday, and he’ll be fired up to play well against Damian Lillard in Portland on Tuesday after the Blazers moved Lillard with the plan of Scoot serving as their point guard of the future. He was averaging 14.3 points, 5.1 assists, a steal and 2.0 3-pointers in January prior to Tuesday’s game and will be a silly-season hero again after the trade deadline passes.

    Malik Beasley Pistons SG/SF 36%

Beasley might be the new favorite to win Sixth Man of the Year and just keeps plugging along for the surprising Pistons. He’s scored in double digits in five straight games and has averaged double-digit scoring all season long. He’s averaged 15 points, 1.2 steals and 3.2 3-pointers in January and is locked into 28 minutes for a team making a playoff push. He should be rostered everywhere.
