Let’s go through the rankings for Week 4 as the fantasy season is really starting to heat up.
Rank Player Team Opponent Notes 1 Lamar Jackson BAL KC Negligible differences between the Top 2 QBs right now, so I’m leaving Jackson as QB1 for another week 2 Josh Allen BUF NO Matchup for Allen this week is so good it might be not that good, because who knows if he’s even playing through the third quarter 3 Jalen Hurts PHI TB Big week for Hurts in comeback W in tough matchup. All in all, has to be ranked the QB3, although a tier below. 4 Caleb Williams CHI LVR Raiders defense has looked terrible, Williams is the QB3 on the year, and he crushed another bad matchup last week 5 Justin Herbert LAC NYG Herbert continues to go bananas throwing the ball, and this matchup should be easier than Denver 6 Patrick Mahomes KC BAL Ravens just aren’t a tough matchup anymore, and he’s doing more hero ball to support a valuable QB1 season 7 Jordan Love GB DAL Coming off a real stinker vs. Cleveland, but there’s nothing like this Dallas defense right now. He’s a must-start. 8 Drake Maye NE CAR Lots of ups and downs with Maye thus far, but I’ll stick to attacking Carolina, despite the horror show from Penix in Week 3 9 Bo Nix DEN CIN Third straight matchup play here. Nix is just the QB20 this year, but this game should open up some possibilities for him. 10 Baker Mayfield TB PHI Mayfield is down Mike Evans and facing Philly. He stays on the QB1 edge. 11 Daniel Jones IND LAR Can’t believe I’m advocating for Jones against the Rams, but his QB4 start to the season is undeniable, at this point. 12 Jared Goff DET CLE Goff shined on SNF, and while the Browns are a tougher matchup, the Lions excel at home. 13 Geno Smith LVR CHI Smith produced big numbers while chasing last week, and the Bears should yield a good amount of production. He’s a good streamer. 14 Jayden Daniels WAS ATL It seems like Daniels is trending in. I don’t know how many Daniels managers can just sit him if he’s active, so he’s here on the list. 15 Dak Prescott DAL GB Tough matchup for Prescott, although his pass volume should remain really high. Hopefully he pays it off more than he has been. 16 Kyler Murray ARI SEA The Seahawks aren’t getting enough credit as a defense yet. Kyler on a short week makes me queasy. 17 C.J. Stroud HOU TEN Must-win game for the Texans, and a bit of a last stand game for Stroud, who’s been awful this year and needs a big performance. 18 Matthew Stafford LAR IND Stafford has looked great despite the injury scares. He’s just tough to get upside out of. 19 Brock Purdy SF JAC Seems like Purdy is set to return in a great matchup. It seems like one of those “wait and see” situations. 20 Justin Fields NYJ MIA If we get good reports on Fields heading into the weekend, this is a great matchup with plenty of upside. 21 Sam Darnold SEA ARI Darnold lacks upside because of Seattle’s low-volume attack, but he’s had two solid games consecutively. 22 Michael Penix ATL WAS Coming off of a complete disaster, Penix needs a bounce back. He’ll be motivated to get back on track. 23 Trevor Lawrence JAC SF Tough matchup for Lawrence, another QB who needs a big game. He can’t be trusted right now. 24 Spencer Rattler NO BUF Rattler deserves a boost. His team will lose constantly, and he will chase with huge pass volume. He’s QB17 on the year as a result. 25 Aaron Rodgers PIT MIN Don’t want either QB in this Dublin game. Of the two, I’d slightly prefer Rodgers despite the lopsided defensive matchup. 26 Bryce Young CAR NE You can’t trust Bryce Young week-to-week, but he is still the QB19 so far, and the Patriots have not looked good defensively. 27 Carson Wentz MIN PIT Wentz fell victim to a wild game script in his first start, but this still feels like a complete stayaway unless you’re desperate. 28 Tua Tagovailoa MIA NYJ Tua is simply the worst kind of fantasy QB. He doesn’t run, he’s inconsistent and he makes way too many mistakes. 29 Cam Ward TEN HOU Ward remains way outside startable territory. He’s outside the Top 32 at QB despite starting every game so far. 30 Joe Flacco CLE DET It feels like Cleveland is setting up to get slaughtered in Detroit after they upset Green Bay. I’m not interested in Flacco. 31 Jake Browning CIN DEN Browning vs. Denver sounds like an absolute nightmare. No thank you. 32 Jaxson Dart NYG LAC Facing arguably the most impressive defense so far this year, I’m a hard no in Dart’s first ever start.
