The season has started, the games matter and rosters have been finalized.
So the top-25 list is no longer about who will start the season with their big league team, but who is most likely to come up and make an impact during the season.
I have updated the list by removing all of the players who made their teams’ respective Opening Day rosters and ranked the players who didn’t in order of impact and/or when I expect them to get the call to the big leagues.
**The roster percentage I reference is from Yahoo**
1. Konnor Griffin – SS – Pirates – 71%
The #1 prospect in all of baseball has gotten off to a hot start in Triple-A. Over three games and 13 plate appearances, he has five hits (two doubles), three walks, two stolen bases and three strikeouts. Ridiculously small sample size and all, but he has a 28.6% barrel rate, 57.1% hard hit rate and an average exit velocity of 92.6 MPH…but a fly ball rate of just 28.6%. I mean, if that is the only negative, then we are doing good. He will hopefully not spend much time in the minor leagues, receiving more of a Paul Skenes or Roman Anthony treatment and less of a Bubba Chandler treatment.
2. Robby Snelling – SP – Marlins – 6%
Neither Chris Paddack nor Janson Junk should stand in the way of Snelling making his big league debut this season. After turning in a fairly elite 2025 season across Double-A and Triple-A, he made his 2026 debut over the weekend. He struck out three over four innings, walked two and allowed just one earned run and one hit. Not the electric outing we were expecting, but not terrible either. Expect better outings going forward and the potential to be a top-50 starter from the moment he makes his big league debut.
