    Clippers +7.5 (-105), Nuggets -7.5 (-115), O/U 219.5

    Key Storylines

Kawhi-less and pick-less: The new-look Clippers are a veteran team looking to compete. Without Kawhi for the foreseeable future, they’re funneling their offense through James Harden and, just like in his Houston days, rim-running and 3-point shooting role players are benefiting from him. Harden, Zubac and Powell (lookout fg% lovers) were the only players to break the 30-minute barrier in their season debut and seem to be the only ones who you can rely on consistently. They could ride with whoever is playing better alongside those three while Harden tries to get back into MVP form. And hey, 29-12-8 with eight turnovers in their first game of the season – don’t you miss this Rockets fans?

Braun or Brown: After losing KCP and Bruce Brown in back-to-back offseasons, the Denver Nuggets finally seem to have found their 5th starter. Russell Westbrook! But seriously, while Russ provided some spark of the bench against OKC (5 ast – 5 reb – 3 stocks), his percentages will always hurt you and the Denver bench continues to be a problem. Meanwhile, the starting five with Braun looked good (despite the loss), with Braun chipping in with a nice well-rounded line and the best +/- of the team. It’s still Jokic and company, but Braun looks to have a leg up over Watson, Strawther and company.

    Stream of the Game

Christian Braun seems to have starter minutes locked up and should contribute with 3s and steals – it should be very hard for him to repeat his last game, but he’s shown that he can do it. Peyton Watson is also very intriguing, as he got 7 shots and 2 blocks in 15 minutes last game.

Alternatives: Kris Dunn (steals), Westbrook (p-r-a if you can take a big %s and to hit), Derrick Jones Jr. (rebounds, blocks)

    Miami Heat @ Charlotte Hornets
