Wow. We finally got through the trade deadline. Now what? Let’s review my top add options. Our readers are smart, you already know the pecking orders, but who do you prioritize to actually roster rest of season in standard cat leagues? Matt Brash (RP/SP, Mariners)

I admit, I have always been a Matt Brash truther due to his ridiculous K upside. The ratios had always been an issue, but he’s figured something out this season. Brash has 78 Ks out of the pen this year, with an insane K rate. In his last month, he has a 2.45 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 18 Ks in 11 innings. The kicker here is his usage upside with Sewald out of town. Andres Munoz has moved up the pecking order, so Brash is bound to be in some more fireman or ancillary save situations to add to his elite 7 wins out of the pen. How’s that Statcast? It’s dark red. His Hard Hit%, xBA, xSLG, K%, Barrel %, Whiff%, Fastball Velocity and Curve Spin are all in the 80th percentile or higher on Statcast. He’s an add anywhere where you have space for a non-closer, the SP eligibility is amazing for teams maxed out on closers.

Andres Munoz (RP, Mariners)

Munoz was the closer in the waiting behind Paul Sewald, and now Paul has packed his bags to head to play in the desert for the Diamondbacks. Munoz’s fastball is in the 99th% on Statcast and he’s a must-roster player in all formats for me. So far in 2023, he has a 2.81 ERA and 36 Ks in 25.2 innings. He already has locked two saves since the deadline, confirming what we already knew. He was the top non-closer to me pre-draft season due to his ridiculous 2022 season in which he threw 65 frames with a 2.49 ERA with 96 Ks and a 0.89 WHIP. Andres is looking like a top 10 RP asset rest of the way.
